It is amazing to watch how the world, with all its advanced knowledge, technology, and economic power can be thrown into chaos by a virus. We really aren’t as strong as we think we are.
Yet events such as these offer parents and the church crucial opportunities to help our children understand God’s good and sovereign rule in the midst of disease, calamities, and disasters.
If they are to have an unwavering and unshakable confidence in God, they must be taught how to interpret hard realities through biblical truth—not only for their own faith but so that they may be “prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15).
