Prayer Points 28 June 2020
Our Church
ZB COVID Taskforce – Thank God for the faithful service of Ps Dev, Vernon and Eld George who will be stepping down from the taskforce which started in February. Pray for new leaders and members Ps Alby, Zhi-Wen, Edwin and Jacqueline joining the team to oversee Phase II.
Missions Month – The theme for July will be “Final Frontiers”. Pray for our hearts to be stirred to feel and understand God’s heart for the lost in places where He is not known. Pray that sermons, stories from frontier workers, prayer opportunities, and webinars will be used by the Holy Spirit to spark a desire in our hearts to bring His love and gospel to those who have not met a Christian or have had a chance to read His Word.
Resumption of Church Services (p.7) – We will be looking forward to gathering in congregations of 50 people in July. Do pray that in all the logistics and safety management, God will be glorified and the saints encouraged to look towards the unity of hope we have in Christ.
Our People
Apprentices –Ms Jacqueline Lie will be joining as a ministry apprentice, assisting with the Youth Ministry starting July. Pray that her time as an apprentice will grow her in love and knowledge of Christ and how His Spirit is working in Zion Bishan. Pray also for Tay Li Hui and Danny Chua as they carry on their time in the EXCEL Apprenticeship program.
Rebecca Lee (OMF worker, Cambodia) – Praise God for a diagnosis of what was causing some stomach discomfort. Pray that the current treatment would result in the eradication of the bacteria causing the problem. Pray for the welfare of many families in Cambodia suffering economic hardship because of forced eviction from Thailand, affecting tens of thousands of factory workers. Pray that God will also provide for the many Christian ministries that are suffering the loss of income and struggling to cover their monthly costs.
Our World
North India –Pray for adequate financial provision for the needs of the workers in the schools and ministries of our ministry partner there. The 4 schools that the partner runs, provide communities in the region with good quality education. Many parents and small churches have been unable to pay for their children’s schooling because of the loss of their jobs due to COVID-19.
East Nepal – Pray for continued healing for brother Prakash, who is recovering from a stroke and the surgery he underwent. He is able to talk a little and walk with support. Pray also for healing of 22 children under the ministry partner’s care, who have come down with chickenpox, some with diarrhoea, fever and headaches. Pray especially for 2 children who have been hospitalized.
