Prayer Points 16 August 2020
Our Church
Christianity Explored (12 Aug) – CE had 28 participants last week. Do encourage and pray for our table hosts. Running the course via Zoom makes engagement with participants difficult. Pray for the Spirit to work in the hearts of those who are hearing the truth of the gospel for the first time.
Annual Congregational Meeting – Pray for Session as they finalise the ACM papers for dissemination. Auditors have requested for more time to adjust the reports. God willing, we should be able to send out the reports by next week. Pray above all that our hearts and minds, united in prayer and in the Spirit, will come together on 26 Sep as a church family to listen and to work towards bringing Zion Bishan through these challenging times.
Our People
ACM Planning Team – Pray for the team comprising of Ps Alby, Eld Reginald, Dn Benson, Dn Benjamin and Dn Paul together with legal advisers Yong Yong and Wee Lee. Running a virtual ACM is very new and has many legal and operational matters to iron out.
Our World
Updates on the CV19 MRF support:
North India – Praise God for the financial aid that was provided to 155 families of gospel-workers here. They have been facing a shortage in their regular support. Pray for them to be encouraged to continue faithfully in their ministry amidst greater gospel openness in these COVID-19 times.
West Bengal, India – The fund will provide support to a children day-care centre. This will enable the staff to continue taking care of needy children and their families.
Central India – Thank God that the CV19 MRF was able to provide food (rice, dal, oil and sugar) for 3 months to 15 families affected by lockdowns and floods. Pray that our ministry partner will serve with the compassion of Christ as they bring this food relief to these communities.
Myanmar – Thank God the CV19 MRF was able to provide rice for 90 families, 3 education centres and small cash gifts for 30 needy families, identified by a local church, for the purchase of medicine and groceries. Pray for this aid to be a bridge to gospel conversations.
Indonesia – The CV19 MRF was used to provide flood relief packages (infant milk powder, diapers and basic food necessities) for 25 families. Pray that this act of service for the neighbourhood will bless these families. Pray that good relationships will be built with the church ministering in this area.
West Asia – The CV19 MRF will provide 3 months of financial support for a missionary family of 5 living in West Asia. Praise God for how this family is seeking to bring the love of Christ to those who have yet to know it in this needy region.
