Prayer Points 4 October 2020
Our Church
October In-Person Services – Thank God we begin meeting with up to 100 worshippers today!
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together… but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” – Hebrews 10:23-25
S3P – We thank God for the time God has given to us to befriend and serve our guest stayers these past 5 months. They have moved into other accommodation on 30 Sep. Twelve of us rejoiced to witness the baptism and partook in communion with one of the S3P stayers on 29 Sep. Pray that he will continue to grow in his faith. Pray also that each stayer will be able to transit well into their next phase with the faith, hope and the love of Jesus sustaining them.
Year End Camps & Retreats – Pray for the Men’s Ministry Retreat and Youth Camp being planned to be conducted in Nov and Dec respectively. Pray that these camps will be a spiritually enriching time to grow in our knowledge of Christ, and done so in a safe and conducive manner.
Our People
Elder Chuah Chin Yew – Today we witness the ordination of our newly elected elder. Thank God for Chin Yew’s many years of service as a deacon in the soccer, youth and other ministries. Let us pray for him as he begins a new season of service to the church as an elder.
PSLE – Pray for our Primary 6 students who are in the midst of their PSLE. Thank God for seeing them through their time studying and preparing for these examinations. Pray not only for their minds, but for their hearts to understand how God is shaping their lives even in moments like this. May our children learn to give glory to God in all they do.
Our World
COVID-19 – The pandemic has claimed over 1 million lives worldwide. Even as we thank God for our relative safety in Singapore, let us pray and remember fellow Christians in the world where gathering as a church is still not allowed. Pray for our ministry partners as they continue serving their community and spreading the love of Christ the best they can. May many see Jesus through the love and action of the church, and bring many to the saving knowledge of Christ.
Malaysia – Please pray for our ministry partner, Eld Koo from Kampong Hubong. He sustained some fractures and spinal compression after his car skidded while on his way to Mersing 2 weeks ago. He underwent an operation on 29 Sep. Please pray for speedy and full recovery and also for a successful application for subsidies from the government to help cover part of his medical costs.
