Prayer Points 3 January 2021
Our Church
The Next Lap – This part of our vision was presented last week:
Our Challenge – In order to facilitate all members returning weekly at fixed times, we will maintain our current arrangement of multiple worship services, including 4 English Services at 10.30am, 1pm, 3pm & 5pm. This will mean that most of our members would need to voluntarily migrate to one of the less-familiar afternoon services. We believe this should be done as an AG, rather than as an individual, to maintain community and facilitate spiritual friendships. Our appeal, and our challenge to every AG is to make a decision regarding service time, using the mind of Christ (Rom 15:1-13). We know this is a challenge, but we believe God will help us.
Phase 3 – Pray for our church as we aim to scale up to 200pax worship services every week from 31 Jan. This will mean that all of us can come back to church on a weekly basis. Pray for the various Sunday-based ministries as they reorganise and restart. Pray also for the AGs as they commit themselves to these new service times.
Christianity Explored (27 Jan) – Pray for the next run of CE on Zoom. Pray for friends and family to respond to our invitations, especially for those who have joined us through at our December evangelistic services.
Our People
2021 – With the new year comes new blessings and challenges. Let us pray for one another: for our children as school begins, pray they grow in not just their education at school, but in their love for God and His word; as work carries on into the new year, with much anticipation and hope for continued safety and economic growth, pray that we remember that this world is not our home and we live as children of God.
Children’s Discipleship – Pray for the Children’s Ministry Team with their plans to conduct CD Classes alongside our Sunday Services. Pray for our parents to support our CD teachers as they assist with the important work of nurturing our children to be disciples of Jesus.
Youth Discipleship Leaders Retreat (2 Jan) – Thank God for the encouraging time and training in preparation for the year ahead. Pray for our YD leaders to experience joy as they share God’s Word with our youths weekly.
Our World
Indonesia – Pray for comfort and peace to be upon a couple from our ministry partner for the loss of their new baby last Saturday. The mother had an emergency caesarian due to the umbilical cord being wrapped around the baby’s neck. She passed away several hours later. Her name was Vania and she was buried last Sunday.
