Prayer Points 28 March 2021
Our Church
Maundy Thursday and Good Friday – In the coming week, we remember the death and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank God for His glorious plan to save and make us His children. Thank God we are able to hold the upcoming services in-person or on live-stream, and even host fellow BP churches at our premises. Pray for our hearts to be turned to Christ and His word.
Christianity Explored – The English run of CE has ended, and the Mandarin one finished on Saturday, 27 Mar. Thank God for all who served as table host and facilitators in extending the gospel to those who had come to find out more about Jesus. Pray for the follow-up actions needed to nurture the gospel seeds that have been planted.
Our People
Vernon Quek – will be ordained on Friday, 2 Apr (see p.6). Praise God for his life and service in sharing the gospel of Jesus. Pray for him and his family as they embark on their next phase of ministry.
Pastor Ebi’s wife, Priya – was warded in hospital on Wednesday, 24 Mar, suspected of suffering from a mild stroke after she complained of severe headache and double vision. Scan showed a blood clot in her brain which is now being treated with medication. Please pray for God’s healing and speedy recovery and for His peace to be upon her and Ps Ebi.
Our World
Palm Sunday – We are into the final week for Harvest Lent Prayer with the focus on the lost in our social networks and those in other countries. Let us remember that Jesus went to the cross with the world in mind; not just for Jews in Jerusalem, but for all races in all places, to the ends of the earth.
Malaysia – Thank God for what we have heard at today’s mission focus regarding our partner Wawasan Penabur (or “Sower’s Vision”) to grow the faith of the next generation of Bahasa Melayu speaking Christians in Malaysia. Pray for their plans to develop and distribute Christian resources, in hopes, to nurture and strengthen the knowledge of God in the hearts of all Bahasa speaking Christians. Pray that this will grow their faith and ability to reach out to others with the love of Christ.
Myanmar – Pastor J sent these prayer requests: 1) Pray for the restoration of law, order, stability and peace. 2) Pray for a genuine democracy to be established. 3) The need for more spiritual, mental and physical strength. 4) For a forgiving heart, because it is difficult to. 5) Pray for the evangelists and pastors in the fields, who are faithfully caring for their congregation faced with food and basic necessity shortages. 6) People are worried of becoming forced labour for the army. Thanks for praying for us & Myanmar.
