ZB COVID-19 Taskforce Advisory – 15 May 2021
ZION BISHAN COVID-19 TASKFORCE ADVISORY – 15 MAY 2021
Dear Zion Bishan Members and Friends,
Situation. We thank God for the last 3 months of pursuing our next lap vision of “multiple congregations”, which has facilitated our goal to better care for members and also respond to unpredictable changes quickly amidst the pandemic. This has put us in a better place, for such a time as this, when things have taken a dive for our nation concerning Covid-19 and we must now brace ourselves for Phase 2 (Heightened Alert).
This advisory is guided by two key considerations:
A. To strictly moderate our activities in the letter and spirit of the law for the sake of public safety.
B. To continue nurturing our multiple congregations – with emphasis on individuals who face challenges when worshipping online or who don’t know the Lord.
Measures. For the period of Sunday 16 May 2021 to Sunday 13 June 2021: 1. All Services will operate at 50 pax capacity
a. All English services will be live-streamed at www.youtube.com/zionbishan.

3.00pm – https://youtu.be/g8L1BrAt5U4
5.00pm – https://youtu.be/m2VbvpCU3Ak
b. The congregations will make their separate arrangements for in-person registration and attendance. Families with more than 2 persons should join via live-stream. Note that all registrations done prior to 15 May will be cancelled.
c. We encourage you to continue joining the service that you have been regularly attending. The Congregation Shepherding Teams will directly address their respective congregations at each service.
2. All classes and activities on-site will be suspended. In person Children’s Discipleship (CD) classes will be suspended till further notice; parents are encouraged to use the Family Activity Sheets and Faith at Home resources sent via the CD Telegram Channel. Children’s Ministry ICs from each congregation will inform parents if there is CD on Zoom for the respective congregations. Contact Ruth Quek (ruth@zionbishan.org.sg) ASAP if you are not yet connected to this communications channel.
Youth Discipleship (YD) classes will move online — details will be given through YD leaders. The Youth Fellowship (YF) will also gather online — details will be updated via small-group leaders & the YF Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/zionbishanyf/). All wedding ceremonies that have been pre-booked may continue, subject to the latest restrictions. Any other exceptions (e.g. to organize ministry to the neighbourhood; for urgent pastoral counselling or matters needing onsite access) must be approved by Senior Pastor Alby.
3. All Action Group (AG) gatherings will meet virtually for the time being. That said, we encourage members who are comfortable to gather in homes as long as the measure of 2 distinct visitors per household per day is adhered to. We also encourage members to consider using this to make space on Sundays for others who struggle with participating online via livestream or gathering for in person services. Do contact Dn Danny (9239 4160) if you require some assistance helping your AGs to meet in house groups over Zoom.
4. Concerning Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), Changi Airport /Jewel Changi Airport and in-person activities:
a. Our 7 May Advisory concerning people who work at or have been to TTSH remains
valid (https://www.zionbishan.org.sg/2021/05/zb-covid-19-taskforce-advisory-7-may-2021/).
b. Please stay home and join us via live-stream for our Sunday services if you have been to Changi Airport and/or Jewel Changi Airport since 1 May 2021.. The Ministry of Health (MOH) advises these individuals to monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit and get a COVID-19 test if they feel unwell. (MOH Advisory, 13 May 2021)
c. MOH has also advised all Changi Airport /Jewel Changi Airport workers and staff to refrain from going out except for essential work or activities in the next 14 days. (MOH Advisory, 12 May 2021). If these restrictions affect you by way of your employment, please do not hesitate to contact any of our pastors to let us know how we can support you.
d. Those who stay in the same household, or who have been in contact with someone working at Changi Airport/Jewel Changi Airport (provided that person is not currently placed on Leave of Absence, Stay Home Notice or Quarantine Order), are welcome to join us for in-person services.
Finally, let us be united in the Spirit of Christ and in prayer, for each other, for Zion Bishan and for Singapore and our national leaders for God’s wisdom to steer the country back into safer waters. Nonetheless, regardless of the situation or limitations, let us be reminded that the Gospel is Unstoppable as we studied in the Book of Acts. So let us continue to, “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” (2 Timothy 4:2)
