Prayer Points 27 June 2021
Our Church
#GettingReal about Disability and Inclusivity – Pray for God to give all of us in our church the Spirit of wisdom, to have the eyes of our hearts enlightened to know the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints (Eph 1:16-18). Abled-bodied or challenged, may God grow our love towards one another to see our church family build one another up in love and discipleship.
#GetReal Conversations – Thank God for the 3 follow-up dialogue sessions in the past week. Pray for our church to continue talking about these important issues in a loving spirit and to grow in our understanding of how to better affirm one another in our individuality and current station in life. Pray also for the 2 upcoming conversations in July (see p9).
Our People
Rebecca Lee – is now back in Cambodia. Thank God she had a good time back in Singapore. Pray for her work in developing the language learning and teaching process for the new workers who have just arrived. Pray also for the COVID situation there as cases have increase exponentially in the last 5 months. Healthcare costs and personnel are stretched and the poor are vulnerable to the virus as they have to continue working in factories which exposes them to the pandemic. Please pray for God’s mercy, and that the fear of the people will turn them to ask questions about life and death and God.
Our World
Urban Missions Conference (July 2021) – Pray for our church to have open hearts to the Holy Spirit as we explore what it means to #getlost, or sacrifice as we serve the world with the good news of Jesus. Pray that what we hear will not remain as knowledge in our heads, but will be become a true conviction of the heart and action of the will in our lives. Pray that in July, many at Zion Bishan will be willing to make time in midst of busy work or school schedules to learn how they can be involved in Urban Missions.
Missions Prayer – Friday Prayer meetings for our church will be organised around this question “Where is the Harvest for Zion Bishan?” Pray that more of us will come together with hearts ready to pray, listen and be inspired by God to greater action and love for the lost, near or far.
East Nepal (Floods) – Torrential rains from the current monsoon season has caused widespread floods and damage. Thank God our ministry partner was able to provide relief in the last week with tents, blankets and clothes for the Christian community in flood-affected areas. Pray for protection and for the weather to improve so that relief efforts will carry on unimpeded.
West Nepal (Disability ministry) – A home, set up by our partner, will soon be ready to receive special needs children who are often considered a curse in their rural villages due to their disabilities. Do pray to God to raise up trainers for the workers who are in need of equipping.
