Prayer Points 1 August 2021
Our Church
#GetGoing – Pray that the #GetGoing Zoom sharing on 10 Aug (see p8), which will present 7 opportunities to serve among streetwalkers, migrant workers, Vietnamese and Japanese people in Singapore, digital missions, the special needs community, and the homeless will be well-attended by many from our church. May we “get going” to serve our Lord in these marginalised communities.
Music and PA Ministry – Thank God for the gifts and abilities God has given to members of the body of Christ to use to serve Him and His church! Pray for the Music Ministry’s plans to set up new teams to serve in each of the 4 English Services. Pray for the PA Ministry as they work together. Thank God for their current weekly service to ensure the Word of God is preached unhindered in-person and on live-stream.
Our People
Queenie Ng – and Michael thank God and everyone who has prayed with them for Queenie’s surgery which went smoothly. Do continue to pray for her recovery and for the pain management to be effective. May she experience God’s presence & His peace as she rests.
Rosie Wee – underwent an urgent surgery to repair a badly damaged shoulder on 28 Jul from a fall the week before. Thank God her surgery went well. Pray for her healing and recovery.
Our World
Singapore –The recent River Valley High School incident has revealed that our young people are under much stress. Pray that we as a church community will be able to do our part in reaching out to any young person within our networks to encourage them with the love of Christ. Pray also for us to drink deeply of the life-giving water that Jesus offers (John 4:10) so that we may be able to point those thirsty to the life and refreshment that they can have in Jesus.
India – Pray that school-going children in India will not drop out of school due to prolonged closure of schools. Pray for schools to be able to resume safely.
We are thankful that God continues to go forth as our partners carry on with on-site visitations and training programmes. Pray for God’s favour and protection on His workers, especially for believers who are facing persecution for their faith. Pray also for God’s special grace for certain individuals facing medical issues such as leg and hip fractures, knee down leg amputation, typhoid and fits.
Nepal – Pray for our partner to be able to rent a house for an orphanage and an IT school so that they can shine for Christ and serve the needy in their community. To run a school for special needs children, our partner is planning to send some workers to specialised diploma courses on autism and intellectual disability. Pray for suitable candidates and the right school for them to attend.
