Prayer Points 14 November 2021
Our Church
Basic AG Leaders Equipping (BAGLE) –The 2021 BAGLE course begins today. Pray the Lord will grow the hearts and minds of the 8 leaders participating to be aligned to His purposes for His church as detailed in Scripture. Pray each leader would be spiritually nourished and kept by Christ, as they discuss issues of pastoral care and burnout among small group leaders.
Reading John’s Gospel 1-to-1 – Our AGs in the Leaders Prep training system are wrapping up a year of studying John’s Gospel with a workshop on how to read John’s Gospel 1-to-1 with non-believers. Pray it’ll be a good time of equipping members to have confidence in inviting an unbeliever to read John together. Pray also for an evangelistic talk on 4 Dec (see page 8 for details), that AGs will boldly use the opportunity and what we’ve been equipped with to invite friends to read John with them
Our People
Brother Sambhu – Pray for Sambhu’s father, who was diagnosed with cancer in the upper gastrointestinal tract whilst in the UK. Pray for God’s grace and mercy for Sambhu’s mum who suffers from dementia and needs to be cared for. Thank God for the help of the local Nepali church in UK. Pray for healing for the father and for the smooth arrangements for his treatment and care.
Our World
Creation Crisis – Climate changes and a warming world has shown us how God’s creation is in crisis. COP26, a global United Nations Summit (in Glasglow) just concluded on 12 Nov. Pray for the resources, unity of will between nations and perseverance to tackle the crisis we see in God’s world today. May we as a church body or individually as believers make wise and concrete choices in our lives to be wiser, better stewards of creation.
North East & Central India – Thank God for the faithfulness of the workers and pray for God’s favour to be upon them. Pray also for the new believers in these regions to grow in their faith and be strong in their spiritual commitment. Pray for our partner’s church construction in Central India and the training for 85 participants that is planned for this week.
Nepal – As temperature dips in the hills, pray for the children and youths in the mountain homes of our partner. May our Lord provide and keep the children safe during these harsh winters. Our partner needs to find a suitable premises for a new ministry further north and the search is currently ongoing. Pray that a suitable house will be available at the right rent so that this ministry can be started. Thank God for this ministry initiative as it would be a good platform to reach a frontier people group.
