Prayer Points 9 January 2021
Our Church
Ecclesiastes – We begin the year with a new sermon series. May God’s Word speak to us in our circumstances and draw us towards Him. As we ponder the wisdom from the author of Ecclesiastes, pray that we will grow in our understanding of the idols in our lives and how we must respond to God.
Land Lease Renewal – Ps Alby Yip wrote an update on our land lease (read it here: https://www.zionbishan.org.sg/2022/01/land-lease-renewal-updates/). Please pray for God’s plans for our church.
Our People
Parent Partnership – The Children & Youth Ministries (CM & YM) meet with our parents at the start of every year. These sessions are an important part of our Parent and Church partnership for the discipleship of the next generation. Pray for the CM & YM teams as they work on equipping parents to carry out faith at home. Pray for parents, who have the greatest influence over the faith of their children, to be walking close to God and intentionally imparting faith to their children. Pray for the church community to be a means of grace and support to parents in their task of raising the next generation of faith.
Our World
India – Praise God that Christmas and New Year was peaceful in all the fields for our partners here. Pray for Sister Sonali, wife of Brother Cecil, our partner in North India who needs to seek treatment for her acute myeloid leukaemia. Pray that she will have the strength to endure the strain of the trip to see her doctors and for them to be able to alleviate the worsening symptoms of her condition.
Indonesia – Our partner has a ministry that reaches out with the gospel to remote villages in a region where technology and roads are sparse. Thank God that 1500-1700 people in this region attended their Christmas celebrations in 8 different villages despite bad weather and difficult inroads. Pray for our partner to continue to seek the Holy Spirit’s wisdom and guidance as they plan to share the love of Christ with this region where He is not known.
Nepal – Thank God for our partner’s ministry to a few children with intellectual disabilities in village D. Praise God for the mutual encouragement, with Zion Bishan, that has come from sharing with one another on what it means to care and love children with disabilities. Pray that these online sessions will be a means of support and encouragement to our partner in their ministry of loving these precious ones. Pray also for another partner who is visiting his wife’s relatives this week. Pray for opportunities to share Christ’s love and truth to them and that his relatives would be open to hear and receive it.
