Prayer Points 10 July 2022
Our Church
English as Second Language (ESL) Ministry – Thank God for the annual training and retreat the teachers had on Monday. Pray for His continued protection and sustenance for these faithful volunteers as they start the new semester on 18 Jul, that they will be renewed in the strength of the Lord to continue sharing God’s Word and His love despite falling enrolment of students due to the pandemic.
Registration – Pray for the team led by Dn Joseph which is developing a system (including an app) to replace our present system of pre-registration.
Our People
Abednego, son of our church staff, Bay Yew Chye, will be undergoing an eye operation on his right eye on 18 July. He is in his PSLE year and has been battling against eye infection since last November which led to glaucoma in both his eyes resulting in severe visual deterioration in his left eye. This delicate operation is an attempt to save his good right eye by inserting a drainage implant with the aim to keep the intraocular pressure under control. Please pray for a smooth and successful operation and for God’s peace and patience upon Abednego during this very frustrating and challenging time.
Our World
West Asia – Sister KY, who is currently serving with refugees here reports that a fire broke out last week in another camp within the same city. A whole sector, about 50 tents were destroyed by the fire. Though the camp is not within her NGO’s area of responsibility, a few of them are thinking of ways to help those affected as individuals. Pray that those affected will have the help they need to rebuild their homes.
India – Pray for life partners for 1st generation believers in a north Indian area. Many are facing pressures from family members and society to get married to non-believers. May the Lord provide for these believers who trust and wait upon the Lord. Elsewhere, one partner has shared that believers are sometimes questioned and summoned by their neighbours to answer for their beliefs, even in the midst of their worship and bible studies, let’s continue to uphold them in prayers. May they have the wisdom from God to know what to say and answer every query for His glory.
Floods in Assam (India) & Bangladesh
– Our partner has requested prayers for the grim situation in Assam. They reported more than 2 million people in about 28 districts and 2500 villages affected by recent floods. The situation is equally bad in nearby Bangladesh. Though the water levels are receding, many villages are not getting enough clean water to drink. Please pray that the local government will be able to bring relief (food and clean drinking water) on time.
