Prayer Points 5 March 2023
Our Church
ECM – Thank the Lord that many members came for the meeting and we had an edifying time of hearing how God provided sufficient resources for the previous financial year. Members also voted to approve the following year’s budget. The meeting ended in prayer – as we are aware that it is God who sets the direction for our church and God who has to supply all our needs.
Catechism Class – We have started another round of catechism class, with a full house of almost 30 participants. Do pray for each of the catechumens that they will not only learn the key doctrines of the church, but be sufficiently equipped to continue their spiritual growth towards maturity in Christ.
Emmanuel BP Church – Praise the Lord that Pastor David Leong was elected as the Pastor of Emmanuel BP Church last Sunday, 26th Feb 2023. Pastor Alby will be stepping down as the Advisory Pastor, and Pastor Dev will be taking over that role for the coming year. We pray that we will continue to support our brothers and sisters as they grow in faith and serve the Lord at their venue in One Pemimpin.
Mission Focus – Thank God for the work of the Gospel in northern Thailand, in places like the Care Corner Orphanage in Chiang Mai and amongst the Shan people group in Fang. Pray for God’s protection over both the physical health and spiritual lives of the gospel workers there. Pray also for the continued discipleship of the young children and Myanmar refugees, that there will be labourers and partners to come alongside the local teams there. Beginning from the places we are at currently, prayerfully ask for eyes to see what God sees, that we may have the boldness and faith to partner with Him in shining the Gospel and the light of Christ.
Our World
Nepal Trip – Pray for Sharon as she visits our partner in Nepal this week. She will join another church member in Nepal to visit our partner together. May this visit to our East Nepal partner encourage them in the Lord and grow His Kingdom among the frontier people groups here. Pray for a safe journey there and a fruitful time of working together.
Turkey-Syria Earthquake – It has been almost a month since the 2 powerful earthquakes hit Turkey and Northern Syria on 6 Feb. The British Red Cross reports that the initial 2 quakes killed over 50,000 people and a further 70,000 were injured following it. Rescue efforts have now shifted from finding survivors in the rubble to providing essential support for survivors who have lost their homes, belongings, livelihoods and loved ones. Pray for God’s comfort to come through His presence and believers in the midst of the communities affected. Pray for aid to be able to get to those who need it.
