Day 1
Read Hebrews 10:14-18. What have you understood better about Christ’s sacrifice from last week’s passage? How have you grown in wonder and appreciation about the forgiveness of your sins? Talk in prayer with your Father in heaven about these things.
Day 2
Read Hebrews 10:19-25. What has Christ’s sacrifice secured for us as believers? How would a community of believers understand and practically live out Hebrews 10:19-23? How could this express itself in your AG life?
Day 3
Read Hebrews 10:26-31. What does “sinning deliberately” (v. 26) mean (esp. given what we have heard in Hebrews so far)? Why is the language here so strong when speaking about those who “go on sinning deliberately”?
Day 4
Read Hebrews 10:19-25 again. Think back on all you’ve heard so far from Hebrews chapters 7-10. What do you recall about the Who / What / Where / Effect of Christ’s High Priestly ministry? (see summary visual below) How do the wonderful truths in these chapters empower you to draw near to God “with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water?” Which truths do you treasure most now?
Day 5
Read Hebrews 10 (entire chapter) again. Think and reflect over what it means to draw near to God “with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” Is this how you would describe your current relationship with God – one of confident drawing near? Why or why not?
Spend some time speaking to the Lord about your thoughts and ask Him for help to better understand what Jesus’ sacrifice secures for you.
