Our Church
The WOZ Retreat “Gracestoration” will be held from 15 to 17 Sep in Johor Bahru. We thank God for our speaker Mrs Persis Lim and the 42 ladies attending. Pray for strength and wisdom for Persis, the organising committee and the helpers as they plan and prepare. We ask for God’s protection and safety during our travel and stay there. Pray for all to receive spiritual encouragement and rest. Pray too for ladies to be discipled and be equipped to disciple others with the transforming message of God’s grace.
Foreign Workers Outreach – Pray for our church’s efforts at Terusan Recreation Centre every fortnight on Sunday afternoons. Pray for every encounter (tea conversations, badminton and English lessons) to be a meaningful one, where relationships are forged and the love of Christ shared. There is a need for more people to play badminton and help with the English lessons with these workers. Pray that God will provide more volunteers for this ministry, to pray for the work and also to participate in the fortnightly sessions on Sunday afternoons.
Our World
Indonesia – Pray for brother S who works in a small remote area where there are many unreached people groups. This area has few economic opportunities as well, hence young people will move to the big cities for education and a better life. Pray for brother S who had opportunities for a better life elsewhere but chose to stay in this impoverished and remote area where there are no churches to run a small business and to reach out to people here. Many have come to know God through his faithful efforts. Pray for strength from the Lord for workers like brother S to stay faithful in such areas.
India – One partner in the Hindi Belt areas shared that they are getting opportunities to start at 2 new fields in the northeast. May God provide the resources and people to establish this. Pray also for the new believers being baptised this week, that they will be able to grow deep in the Lord through knowing and obeying His word. Another partner shared that their school is observing “Teachers Day” this week. Pray for all involved to glorify God in their celebrations. The same partner also teaches life skills (like sewing and computer literacy programmes) to believers.
