Prayer Points 15 Oct 2023
Our Church
Nepal Teams – We give thanks that the various ZB teams have all arrived safely and are able to share their skills and love of Christ with our partners (youths, special needs children etc). Pray also for Brothers Beng Hwee, Yuen Kee and Danny as they trek in East Nepal with our partner to visit some of the workers and villages. Sharon and Ps Haoren also leave this week to travel to visit our West Nepal partner. May the love of Christ shine through our members and fellow co-workers as they labour in the harvest.
Catechism Class Retreat – Last Sat (14 Oct) more than 40 catechumens attended a half-day retreat to reflect on their relationship with Jesus. We thank the Lord for the good work He is doing in so many lives, and we pray that we will be able to equip all of them sufficiently, for life and service, by the time the catechism class ends in November. Pray also that all the participants will be able to find an AG to grow in once the class ends!
Our People
John and Rosalind Wong – Let us keep our brother John and sister Rosalind from the 4.30pm congregation in prayer. They recently discovered in end Sep that John has been diagnosed with early stage lung cancer, and is facing further tests and treatment in the months ahead. Pray that our Lord will sustain them in strength and graciously grant recovery according to His will, and grow them in deeper trust in Him in this time.
Family Mission Trip (13 – 18 Oct) – Please pray for the Quek, Foo & Shi Families as they bring their 8 children (age 2 to 9 years old) to visit believers in the Fang District, 3 hours north of Chiang Mai. Pray for safety and God’s protection, but above all for the parents as they seek to disciple their children from young to see God’s heart for people everywhere to know Jesus.
Our World
India – Last week, we prayed for the flood victims in Northeast state of Sikkim when a glacial lake in the Himalayas suddenly burst its banks and caused widespread misery. We give thanks that one partner was able to rally its members to raise funds to help the victims despite the challenging road conditions. Pray that our merciful God will be able to comfort those in need till they find shelter again. In other parts of India, we receive reports of challenging situations faced by our partners and believers due to local conditions, pray for God’s protection and wisdom.
Israel / Gaza – Last Sat (7 Oct), we read the sad news that there were attacks on Israel from Gaza Strip and subsequently Israel responded with airstrikes at targets inside Gaza Strip in the following days. Pray for the people on both sides that God will be merciful and raise peacemakers for this conflict. May the knowledge of the slain Lamb of God who is worthy to open the scroll through our study in the book of Revelation help us to pray urgently for the nations, and as John writes in Rev 22:20 “Even so, come Lord Jesus”.
