Our Church
Tuition Ministry – Thank God for the faithfulness of our teachers since the start of the year. As the kids are currently going through their mid-year assessments, let’s be praying for them to experience God’s love for them and their families in this stressful period. Pray too for patience and love as the teachers continue to support them in their learning and growth.
Guest Workers’ Outreach – Thank God for this work that enables us to love some of the guest workers in our shores this past year. Pray for both ministry leaders and volunteers to continue trusting God for His work and His timing for this ministry. Pray also for more church members to come alongside in serving tea, befriending the guest workers and playing badminton with them.
Our World
Heat Wave (SE Asia) – Pray for the people in SE Asia who are sweltering under this current heatwave. Channel NewsAsia (CNA), 28 Apr reported that Philippines announced the suspension of in-person classes at all public schools for 2 days after record temperatures in Manila; Thailand reported that at least 30 people have died of heat stroke this year; record temperatures are also reported in Cambodia, Myanmar, India, Bangladesh etc). As we also experience a heatwave due to climate change here in Singapore, pray for God’s mercy for people who are less protected and for the urgency amongst God’s people to act and do more to love our neighbours.
Indonesia – (CNA) After it had erupted more than half a dozen of times earlier this month, North Sulawesi’s Mt Ruang volcano erupted again on Tues (30 Apr). The Indonesian authorities ordered thousands of people to evacuate after it issued the highest level of alert due to the threat of a tsunami caused by the eruption. Pray for the people affected by this natural disaster. As we do so, let us also remember the many harvest workers (esp. our missiology school alumni) who brave many challenges and personal safety concerns to share the good news of Christ across this vast archipelago nation, across many people groups and places. Pray for God to strengthen and provide for these workers as they seek to reach the majority people group here. For new believers in this group, pray that God will continue to grow them to maturity through His Word and Spirit.
India – Pray for the work of our partner who runs day care centres in the north east as well as the southern part of the country. Pray also for their children’s camp and annual day programmes across the various centres in May. Pray specifically for the hearts of the parents and children attending, that they can come and know more about Christ and experience the love of God for all peoples.
