Prayer Points 14 July 2024
Our Church
“GetReal about Missions” – July is missions month and our theme is GetReal about Missions. Today and last week, we covered the topic of the Pursuit and Privilege of Mission. Pray that we at Zion Bishan will take action and respond to all that we have heard these past 2 weeks. May more be willing to make time to come together in-person on Friday nights this month to pray for Missions this month.
Our People
Enabling Ministry – We thank God for a very fruitful Enabling Ministry (EM) dialogue last Sunday. We identified a few areas that Zion Bishan will need to work on in our desire to be a Gospel People and a place with Gospel Culture. We desire to speak the truth in love, we also seek to live out the truth in loving action. May God open our eyes and hearts to “see” people in our midst who would be encouraged by our loving actions. Pray also for the EM team as we convert the discussion into action to make ZB a truly inclusive church.
Our Denomination
BPCIS Retreat – We thank God for a truly restful leaders’ retreat on board the Doulos Phos in Bintan. More than 70 of us spent 2 days listening to stories from the OM leaders and were refreshed in God’s goodness. It was also encouraging to see a number of new leaders and staff across the BP churches. Do pray that all of us will learn how to better help and support one another as we work together for the kingdom!
BPCIS Combined Youth Fellowship – We thank God that the YFs from various BP churches gathered in our church for a Saturday afternoon of sharing and games. It was a platform for the youths to experience the larger Body of Christ in Singapore beyond their own church. Pray that this would be a springboard to foster friendship and support among the churches’ youth leaders.
Our World
5 Religious Blocs (THUMB) – One useful acronym that has helped people remember the major religious categories of unreached peoples is T.H.U.M.B. (Tribals, Hindus, Unreligious, Muslims, Buddhist). Think of one person or one country from one of these blocs and pray for them. May they grow in hunger to know Jesus and be transformed by the gospel.
