Prayer Points 18 Aug 2024

Our Church

Bishan Home – We thank God that the residents are able to worship in person with us again after the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic. May they experience the joy of worshipping with His people and may we as a community welcome them and treat them with utmost care, acknowledging their vulnerability and thus the need to minimise physical contact. Pray for God’s provision in staffing and resources needed to care for the residents. Give thanks for the staff, caregivers, and all who minister to the residents, pray for a deep spiritual awakening and a growing faith in God’s provision and care for all their needs.

3 Trips:

Malaysia – Pray for Ps Paul and two other church members as they travel up to Malaysia this weekend (18-19 Aug) to preach at the MCEL (Malaysia Chinese Evangelical League) churches. Pray for safe travel on the roads and good times of spiritual encouragement to fellow Christians in these Malaysian towns.

India – Pray for Ps Ebi, SQ and 2 others as they leave this Sunday to visit 4 groups here over 10 days.  Pray for safe travel, by air, road and rail, good health and good times of fellowship and encouragement.

Indonesia – From 19-25 Aug, pray for a group of 7, mostly from our church as they travel to Indonesia. This is a trip to enjoy God’s creation, to help with income generation and conservation trip. Pray for safe travel, favour in making connections and good times with like-minded people.

Our People

Our Seniors – Praise God for the 50 first timers who attended recent events organised by the Seniors360 ministry. Pray that there will be effective follow up in their discipleship journey, and for more befrienders of all ages to avail themselves to serve. Thank God also for the partnership with SLEC, where 15 ukulele members have started their monthly befriending outreach at the organisation’s Day Care Centre. Pray for their and hearts and what they learned – not only to be on the receiving end, but they can also care for and be a blessing to other seniors too.

Our World

Lebanon – In a recent newsletter, our partner here reports that the situation in Lebanon is worsening and they are on the brink of war especially since the attack in Southern Beirut on 30 July.  Many are told to seek refuge and start stockpiling non-perishable food in case of an all-out war. Pray for our partner here who is persevering with summer children and youth programmes despite all these challenges. Pray for the situation to de-escalate so that all-out war can be avoided.
