Prayer Points 27 Oct 2024

Our People

Pastor Emeritus Quek Swee Hwa underwent an emergency operation this past Wednesday to clear a bowel obstruction caused by a hernia. We thank God that the condition was resolved successfully via laparoscopic surgery without the need for resection. Please pray for a smooth and speedy recovery, in particular for gut peristalsis to be regained so that he will be able to consume liquid and solid food soon. Pray for added strength and grace for Mrs Esther Quek who is the main caregiver and for Sharon and Karen too as they juggle between their work and care for their father.

Radha Thomas needs our continued prayer for her recovery from surgery as the progress has been very slow. She has yet to take in food or liquid via mouth for the past 4 weeks, please pray that gut peristalsis will be regained soon. Pray also for other complications that have surfaced to be resolved and treated effectively. Ask the Lord to lift her weary spirit and strengthen her faith as she trusts in Him for healing. Pray for Chacko as he brings encouragement to her through his daily visits whilst continuing with his writing and speaking ministries that the Lord will sustain him with health and strength.

Seniors360 – We thank God for the many seniors in our midst, reminding us how blessed we are to be an intergenerational family at Zion Bishan. Pray that as our seniors community grows, there will be more among us willing to step forward to love and serve the seniors both in our church, and also beyond our walls, knowing the joy and privilege we have when we see the fruit of our labour unto the Lord.

Our World

India – Various partners have shared many health-related, church-building and other needs for the field. Pray that God will meet these needs in His good time and for them to trust God through these challenges. Praise God that He is opening doors for a possible ministry to be planted in a northwestern state in a local community where people are very welcoming and eager. May God raise more workers from these communities of Jesus followers as they are nearer in culture and language and are therefore good channels for the gospel.

Lebanon – One partner in Beirut updated that they have been able to provide 300 hot meals portions per day and started programmes for women and children fleeing from south Lebanon. Thank God that they continue sharing the love of Christ through food, hygiene resources and children programmes to its neighbours despite these difficult circumstances. May God continue to strengthen and enable His people in Lebanon and the region to live and witness for Christ.
