For The Brothers
By Ps Ng Zhiwen
The Men’s Ministry (MM) held their 15th retreat on 31st October to 2nd November. It was my second time attending an MM retreat, and it won’t be my last. I appreciated getting to attend something and to not feel any different from the others. I wasn’t a “pastor”, but a brother like any other.
The retreat was intentionally designed to be a safe space for men to share, to pray for each other, and to be inspired. The LORD knows how we need a community like this in every season of our lives. The retreat speaker, Pastor Henson Lim, spoke on things concerning the kingdom of God in ways that we could readily relate to. I would love to see a wider spread of brothers attending future MM events, and being a blessing to one another.
To the Sisters in Christ: You can invite the men in your life to come. 😊
Here are some testimonies from the brothers:
This year’s MM retreat was my first. I got to know the brothers from English congregations who I previously greeted with smiles and nods on Sundays. I got to know more about the challenges faced and experienced by these brothers. I also learnt authentic and inspiring insights from our speaker Ps Henson’s messages. – Ps Daniel Nge
The MM Retreat was a good time of reflection and realignment with our Father’s plan. Knowing that God is my Father gave me rest from striving and a refocusing towards the greater mission of making God’s name known. – Jonathan Lai
The Retreat has helped me understand that the Christian walk is not easy. It is a daily alignment to Jesus, and as I take each step with faith, and keep my eyes on the One who paid the costly price, we can complete the race and the assignment that He set for us. – Dennis Wong
About Men’s Ministry:
Zion Bishan Men’s Ministry (MM) seeks to provide a SAFE place for every men across generations to authentically share our faith journey, encourage one another and grow towards spiritual maturity as we pursue Christ-likeness together.
We recognize the vulnerability and unique challenges of men in this broken world. MM offers a supportive environment for fellowship, accountability, and spiritual development to help each man embrace our God-given identity and fulfil our roles as men wherever He assigns us.
We pray that “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another”, through this ministry our brothers will live with integrity, purpose, and courage as we fulfil our calling as disciples, husbands, fathers, and leaders in every aspect of the Kingdom living.”
