- Describe a time when someone asked you to do something that would be difficult or scary, but that you knew would also be good. How did you feel?
- What is the meaning (political and religious) that the angel gives to the son Mary would conceive in Luke 1:32-33?
- People at the time of this story knew just as well as we do where babies come from. What reasons would Mary have to dismiss this announcement? What reasons would there be for her to respond the way she did in Luke 1:38?
