Supporting our Mission Workers
By Sha.ron Quek
One of the important ways Zion Bishan participates in what God is doing around in Singapore and around the world for His glory and vision is through equipping and supporting our church members for missions everywhere. Some serve in or for Cross-Cultural contexts and others do so in Singapore. As you can see below, this is part of our #getsent and “Missional Communities” DNA of Zion Bishan’s next lap.
Next year we have an important revision in their support.
Support of our Mission Workers (in 2024) | Support of our Mission Workers (in 2025) |
Framework of partial support and partial personal fundraising. | This has been revised to full support from 2025 onwards based on what is given to our Church’s ministry staff. (This has been endorsed by the Church Session and was presented at the Ministry Behind the Money (MBTM) and will be presented to the church congregation for approval in Feb 2025’s ECM.) |
This support revision accounts for a significant increase in our budget for Mission Workers in our Home and Foreign Missions budgets. Our aim?
- To better support our current Mission Workers.
- To encourage more Mission Workers to give of their time and talents to the work of bringing the gospel to places and peoples who do not have it.
What does this mean for us, the sending community here at Zion Bishan?
As this is a faith commitment on our part to raise what is needed for them each year, may all who have already been giving specifically to a mission worker continue doing so through the church. And if you would like to consider giving to one of them specifically, please come chat with me or Ps Zhiwen. For your information, we have 6 cross cultural missions workers (ET, KY, SA, DT, DM and CL) and 3 local ones (RL, JL and JH).
Thank you all for being a faithful sending community. Praise God!
