Our Church
Basic AG Leaders Equipping (BAGLE) – Praise God for the 13 participants in this round of BAGLE! Pray that our Lord will minister to their hearts during the upcoming retreat (18 Jan, Sat), that the good news of Christ will nourish them first as they are equipped in caring for the sheep in their AGs. Pray also that the Spirit will exhort and nurture many more members to maturity in Jesus as we heard last Sunday over the pulpit – may many more future leaders joyfully come to embrace the privilege of teaching and shepherding God’s people in our AGs.
Action Groups (AGs) – As many of our AGs resume meeting regularly around God’s word again, let us pray that the Lord will continue shaping our minds and lives by His Spirit. In this year especially where many AGs are journeying through the book of Romans, we pray that Christ and His glorious Gospel will capture and transform our hearts in deep and powerful ways!
Our Denomination
Please pray for at least 3 BPCIS churches that have requested for help from us and from the wider denomination. As we enter our #getsent year, may more of us here at Zion Bishan be moved by the Lord to serve our brothers and sisters there, as we are doing for Emmanuel BP. Do consider taking a year out to help (check with Ps Dev for details).
Our World
Himalayas / Tibet – (BBC, 7 Jan)
At least 126 people were killed, with another 188 injured, after the earthquake on 7 Jan hit the foothills of the Himalayas (in a remote region of Tibet, near Everest). As temperatures are expected to fall to -16 deg celsius overnight, pray for the survivors who are affected by this disaster who have lost their loved ones and homes. Pray that the relief and rescue operations can be carried out smoothly. Thank God that our partners in Nepal have not be adversely affected by the tremors which they felt. Brother Sambhu was in Nepal at that time and also felt the tremors. May the Lord enable believers in affected areas to be able to reach out in support and love to those in need.
