Prayer Points 9 Feb 2025

Our Church

Catechism Class – Thank God for about 30 individuals who signed up for this round and for the 7 table hosts. Pray for clarity and conviction of faith as they learn the doctrines of the church. Do also pray that more current members will consider serving as table hosts each round so that we can more personally minister to the growing number of newcomers.

CNY Community Blessing – Thank God for the 40 persons across various congregations who participated in last Sunday’s distribution in collaboration with St Luke’s (SLEC). Some 400 seniors in 250 households in the ZB neighbourhood were engaged. 13 of them came for the Friendship Meal on Sat evening. Pray that the gospel seeds sown may bear fruit. Pray that more befrienders will come forward to in the various activities to build friendships with the seniors as bridges to sharing Jesus.

Our People

Pastor Alby – Pray for a restful sabbatical. Besides some studies, he will be crafting a curriculum on Christian Mediation to be taught to a group of pastors in Indonesia. Pray also for his two dental surgeries. He will also be going for the long-postponed hand surgery.

Judah Koh – Praise God for brother Judah as he begins his apprenticeship as of 1st Feb. Pray that he will be equipped through this season to serve King Jesus and the Gospel wherever the Lord may lead! Pray also that this may be a period of growth and clarity about God’s mission together for his family.

Our World

India – Pray for Mrs E. Biswas, the wife of the founder of a group of churches of a former partner in NE India. She served faithfully in the field with her late husband and is now in her last days. We thank God for her life of service with her husband and pray for God’s will to be done and for God’s peace to be with the family as they care for her and leave her in God’s hands.

Philippines – Our former partner SMO (Student Missionary Outreach) is a ministry to reach students in the High Schools and Colleges in various parts of the Philippines for Christ. They were able to embark on a relief “Operation Blessing” trip on 27 Dec 2024 to give some essential groceries to 200 families affected by Kanlaon volcano eruption on 9 Dec 2024. They were able to also provide a book gift “Climbing Out of Depression” in their local language to encourage them.
