Our Church
Children’s Discipleship Event –
Our Children’s Ministry (CM) will be hosting a training event on 1-3 May, with Rory Bell coming from the UK to equip CD teachers, parents, and church leaders from Zion Bishan & other sister and partner churches in discipling our children. Rory heads Teaching and Training Ministries, is the author of Mustard Seed, which is the curriculum our CM team currently uses. Please pray for God to use this time to encourage and equip the 70 participants expected per day. Pray also for sustenance for Rory as he conducts talks across the 3 days, preaches at our 3 English congregations, and meets with leaders from ZB and partner churches during his time here.
Enabling Ministry (EM) – In #getreal with someone who is differently abled, it is crucial to foster friendship that embraces a sense of acceptance. The Enabling Ministry (EM) is committed to creating awareness of different types of disabilities that may impact the lives of the individuals. The goal is to increase empathy and acceptance; and enabling the church community to play a pivotal role for an inclusive church. We thank God for friends amongst us for they remind us of Christ’s compassion for the weak and vulnerable. Please pray for willing hearts to be a friend. Pray also for the Enabling Ministry’s efforts in organizing this series of Empathy Labs. Today’s Empathy Lab focuses on Autism awareness on stimming and sensory overload. This is held concurrently at MPH and Fellowship Hall between 12pm – 12.45pm.
MENA Gathering 1-3 May – please pray:
- For all invited speakers and serving personnel to be kept walking closely with the Lord, that they be led by the Lord in various aspects of preparing for the Gathering. Pray for protection, strength, and good health in all ways.
- For invited speakers flying in: journey mercies, speedy recovery from jetlag. Pray that they’d be encouraged through this Gathering.
- For the Lord of the harvest to speak to and send forth more laborers through this Gathering, convinced that He is worthy!
Our World
India – According to Joshua Project, 95.3% (1.368B) people in India are unreached, and only 2.2% are Christians. One partner in N India shared this week on the lack of church leaders and pastors for their local churches. Pray that the Lord will raise leaders and workers for the harvest and for every Christian to be discipled to maturity so that they can evangelise the unreached, as they show God’s love across religious, regional and caste barriers. Many face increasing hardships to share the good news of Christ.
We praise God that in spite of these challenges, we rejoice with another partner in NE India where about 60 new believers took baptism over the Easter weekend. Pray that they will continue to grow in grace and knowledge of the Lord and be His effective witnesses in their respective communities.
