Our Church
Malta Trip (2-11 April) – Malta, being a strategic crossing point between Africa & Europe, has seen many desperate crossings end in drownings for various refugees and migrants. For this trip organised by Interserve, pray for the team comprising 3 of our members along with members from other churches, as they spend time running programs with partner NGOs, the local church, and an international school there. Pray that it will be a time of learning and bringing God’s light to those who are suffering.
A&A Building Project – Pray for the consultants as they finalise the tender drawings and documents that God’s wisdom be upon them to complete this phase with effective design solutions and detailing. Pray also for smooth application process to the authorities and for approval to be granted speedily. May the Lord use this A&A project to increase our capacity to help more and more individuals know Christ in the years ahead
Our World
Myanmar – BBC news reports that the death toll as of Monday (31 Mar) since last Friday’s powerful earthquake in Mandalay as 2000 persons. However, since then the death toll has been rising as more bodies are found. Hospitals were damaged and are overwhelmed. In fact the smell of death is permeating the streets, with Myanmar declaring a week of mourning. Pray for relief aid to be able to reach those affected as soon as possible as this is hampered by damaged roads and bridges and the ruling military government restricting access. Our partners from 2 church groups based in Yangon are trying to help where they can by working with partners in affected areas. Pray that they will have adequate resources for their relief efforts. They request particularly for prayer for a nation already traumatised by a pandemic, a brutal military coup, civil war, floods and now their worst earthquake in recent history.
