Prayer Points 05 Apr 2020
Our Church
COVID-19 Survey — Over 230 of our members have filled out the survey. Pray for the team that will process the findings, propose and execute necessary courses of action to minister to those in need, and facilitate areas of ministry for our church to join in to serve and love our neighbours.
Livestream — Thank God for the livestream of both English and Chinese services so that church members can join the worship services from home. May this be a good opportunity for us to invite elderly parents who have yet to hear God’s word to join in with us. Pray for the PA team as they handle the technicalities of the livestream each week and for the equipment to work smoothly.
Our People
Peer Supporters — Thank God for our Peer Support Program in times like these. Depression and anxiety will be on the rise as people are forced to isolate themselves. Pray that those who are in need of emotional support will reach out for help, and may our peer supporters speak words of encouragement and provide Christ-like love and care.
Youth Ministry — All physical youth church activities have been cancelled to ensure students from different schools do not intermingle in accordance with government advisories. Pray for the Youth Fellowship as the committee plan new and creative ways to continue growing the fellowship online. May they “Strive for Christ” (theme for the year) especially in this season.
Pray for our Youth Discipleship leaders as they take their classes online. Thank God for their commitment and may they bless and be blessed as they serve in teaching the Word to our youth.
Our World
India — India has been on lockdown for 11 days. Though this may slow the transmission of the virus, many more may die of the hunger and stress caused by the lockdown. Millions of workers have lost their jobs, and have to endured days of walking to get back to their home villages; they face the very real prospect of starvation. Pray for leaders and members of our partner churches in West Bengal, India. As church activities close, pray that leaders are able to reach out to their members to encourage them in their faith. Pray for their emotional and spiritual morale in this stressful time as they also feed the poor amongst them. Pray that they will receive very timely and tangible comfort and hope through God’s word and people.
