Prayer Points 13 December 2020
Our Church
The Next Lap – Each week, look out for one part of our vision moving forward. This was presented last week:
Our Conviction – that as embodied persons – there is great blessing in following God’s command to gather together in person, that we cannot get virtually. This is not to say that livestream services are not without their benefits, as they have allowed shut-ins, the occasional visitor and overseas members to view the service in real time.
Catechism Class – Thank God we could have an in-person catechism class over the last 3 months and even end off with a half-day retreat. Pray for the new members who will be received next week, that they will learn what it means to #getdeep, #getreal and #getlost for Jesus.
Our People
Youth Camp 2020: Arukah – Our annual Youth Camp begins this Wednesday (16 Dec). Pray for the youths to have a fruitful time together as they learn about how Christ heals and restores. As they discuss topics on emotional health, social media and spend time fellowshipping in small groups of 5, pray that the their time spent will encourage them to put Christ first in their lives.
Danny Chua – We praise God that Deacon Danny has successfully completed his EXCEL apprenticeship and will be coming on board as a full-time ministry staff as of 1 Jan 2021. Together with Vernon, he will anchor the AG ministry, and continue training our AG Leaders to teach God’s Word and minister to God’s people. He will also assist in the ICCF committee to ensure that Zion Bishan grows to become a safe space for all who enter our gates.
Our World
North East India – Pray for God’s comfort and peace to be upon Pastor R and his family as they grieve over the home going of his wife due to COVID-19 last week.
This week, about 60 ministry leaders gathered to review and plan for their ministries, as well as encourage one another in the Lord. Pray that they will be strong and persevere in faith, hope and love. In the last 3 months, 4 people from our ministry partner’s organisation have gone home to be with the Lord.
Pray also for those they are ministering to who have recently lost jobs. Pray that they will be able to find employment as job markets begin to open up.
South India – Praise God for how the church is growing in the areas where our ministry partner is located. They report that there will be a baptism and a church dedication service in the coming week. Pray for new believers to be well-grounded in their faith and for the safe travels of our ministry partner as they move through various places.
