Prayer Points 20 December 2020
Our Church
The Next Lap – Each week, look out for one part of our vision moving forward. This was presented last week:
Our Concern – while online services have helped people observe corporate worship in this time of pandemic – we have observed many negative effects on our members’ spiritual lives: challenges in being engaged and focused, a reduced sense of community, and a significant loss of reverence in coming before the Living God. In addition, studies have shown how social isolation has a negative impact on people’s overall well being, without them being aware of it.
New Members – Thank God for all the new members being received today into our church family via baptism, reaffirmation of faith and transfer of membership. Pray that every one of them will continue to grow in their faith and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Infant Baptisms –Thank God also for families dedicating their infants for baptism. Pray for our covenantal families to deeply understand the biblical mandate God has given to them to nurture and pass on their faith to their little ones. May the church come along side and partner our parents in this important God-given task.
Christmas Services – Pray for our upcoming evangelistic Christmas service where we have 4 fully registered services! Pray for visitors, family and friends, who have been invited to hear the gospel, will have open hearts to receive God’s good news.
Friendship Meal (23 Dec) – We will be running a Friendship Meal at the LR after a long hiatus. Thank God for another opportunity to reach out to our neighbours. Pray for a safe and blessed time of sharing food and gospel.
Our People
S3P – Praise God for His provision this week of a one-room HDB rental flat for Mr Lim and Gerard, two of the stayers who were with us this year. The good news came just when both of them were arranging to move to another transitional shelter. Pray for good adjustment for them as they set up their new place.
Our World
State of Global Christianity 2020 – Thank God for the growing Church in Global South countries. As the world becomes increasingly religious and diverse in its adherence, please pray for a continued loving witness for Christ in every nation.
In major religious blocs, the vast majority (87%) do not know a Christian personally. Please pray for barriers and misunderstandings to be overcome.
Do pray for the global Church to persist in loving and serving our neighbours. And may the Lord raise more workers for His vineyards.
