Prayer Points 23 May 2021
Our Church
ACM – Pray for our church as we come together on 29 May, albeit virtually, to listen and pray for the plans of our church. Members are reminded that today, 23 May, is the last day to submit your Proxy Form.
Congregational Shepherding Teams (CSTs) – Thank God for The Next Lap vision put in place at the start of the year. With the restructured 4 English Services, pray for each CST to be better able to minister to their smaller congregations. Pray for the teams to find ways to effectively keep in touch with every member, and to be able to help those with physical or spiritual needs.
Ethnic Services – Keep our Chinese congregations in prayer as many of the elderly will struggle with joining in with church online. Pray also for the Tamil Service to work out their plans too, as they consider how to minister to families and individuals.
Our People
Project Love Bishan (see p9) – Thank God for more opportunities to show the love of Christ to our community. Pray for volunteers to step forward to help with the distribution, and for safety when they go out. Pray for the planning team to work out all the necessary details.
WFH/HBL – Pray for one another, especially families juggling work while having to help with home-based learning. Pray for strength and grace to see us through these times when frustrations may arise from multitasking.
Our World
India – Praise God for some who have recovered from COVID and an improved local situation reported by Partner H in the Hindi Belt region. He also shares that believers are helping one another and those facing financial difficulties. Partner M also reports that their community of believers had banded together to help a pastor repair his storm-damaged tin roof. Praise God for the spirit of care and help that believers have in the midst of the many difficulties.
We continue to receive many prayer requests for healing from illnesses, especially from COVID, from various partners in India. Pray for God to help strengthen these believers in their times of suffering.
Myanmar – The continuing strife in Myanmar threatens civilians in rural areas caught between the local forces and the military (Straits Times, 18 May). Pray for peace to return to this conflict weary nation. Our partner, Pastor J writes these prayer requests for his country: Pray for peace and stability of the country. Pray for health and education of the young people, who are suffering injury and great disruptions to their education. Pray for the families affected by job loss. Pray for wisdom to continue ministering to his church congregation in the midst of the political conflict and COVID restrictions.
Pray for healing for contacts from Partners G and HBM, who are sick or are suspected with COVID – Brother A, Pastor S and Brother D. Pray for healing from fever, body ache and other effects.
