Prayer Points 8 August 2021

Our Church

#GetGoing – Praise God for many who have already signed up for this Zoom sharing on the opportunities to get involved in serving marginalised communities. Pray for the Holy Spirit to move our hearts and hands to love and good works for the marginalised and needy among us, even if it costs us our comfort, and convenience. Pray for more at Zion Bishan to come for this Zoom sharing on 10 Aug to consider serving the homeless, streetwalkers, our special needs community, Vietnamese and Japanese in Singapore, migrant workers, and refugees (through digital means).

Land Lease Renewal – Application for our land lease has been submitted. Pray for a favourable response from the government and for our continued use of this place to bless the Bishan community.

Christianity Explored – Pray for the 21 seekers and 9 friends that have registered to be able to attend every weekly session and find out more about Jesus. Pray for Dn Timothy Ong and Joel Khoo as they facilitate the sessions and for the table hosts to engage well with the participants.

Safeguarding Ministry – has begun their training sessions with our Congregational Shepherding Teams and AG leaders. Pray for this important ministry as they help build a safe culture at Zion Bishan against abuse or neglect. Find out more at zionbishan.org.sg/ministry/safeguarding

Our People

Queenie NgContinue to pray for Queenie’s recovery. Thank God for the progress she has made in physiotherapy. Pray for Michael and Emma as they will not be able to visit Queenie as hospitals have stopped visitations. Pray also for Queenie’s protection from catching COVID or other viruses during her stay at the hospital.

Our World

Jesus says “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Jn 14:27

Lebanon – It is the 1 year anniversary of the cataclysmic explosion that rocked Beirut (4 Aug). Our partner here reports that there is still no proper functioning government, many are still left without proper shelter, shortage of cash in banks, two hours of electricity a day and shortage of petrol. Pray for God’s peace to be a source of comfort and strength for believers persevering in faith and love for the needy. Thank God for our ministry partner’s food distribution programmes and education classes.

Myanmar & Indonesia – The high rate of infection and lack of medical resources have caused widespread turmoil in these countries. Pray for God’s mercy upon affected communities and for believers to persevere in faith and hope. May the Holy Spirit minister to all who are suffering.
