Our Church
27th Anniversary – Give thanks to God for His faithfulness towards us! Pray and give thanks for our Ethnic services that minister to different languages and dialects in our community. Thank God for allowing us to continue to be a blessing to our communities, locally and overseas, through the many ministries we have.
250pax Worship Services – Starting this week, we will be holding only 250pax worship services, allowing more to return weekly. Pray that every member, vaccinated or not, will continued to be ministered to through the preaching of the word and the ministry of the saints.
Our People
Emeritus Pastor Quek Swee Hwa – has finished his final term at Emmanuel Bible-Presbyterian Church (EBPC) and will be stepping down as Pastor of EBPC. He will transit into the role of Senior Pastor-at-Large from 1 Nov. He remains Emeritus Pastor at Zion Bishan. Pastor Quek’s pastoral ministry has spanned an illustrious 55 years. We thank God for his ministry together with Esther which has blessed many churches, mission partners and many individuals. Pray for him as he transitions into his new honorary role in EBPC and for God’s continued provision. Pray too for EBPC as they navigate through this transition.
O and A Level Exams – Do pray for our youths taking their major exams. Pray that as they focus their time and energy to do well in their exams, they will grow in their understanding of God’s plan and work in their lives.
Our World
North East India – Praise God that youth events are being planned for churches in the hill and plain regions. Pray for the smooth organisation of these events and for the safety of the organisers and participants. May God use this time to strengthen the faith of the youth in these church communities. Pray also for believers to be courageous in their faith in the midst of continuing challenges. Pray for the leaders and workers shepherding their flock. Pray for the believers to be able to witness to their own relatives.
West Nepal – Floods last week have left grain fields badly damaged. Our partner has requested for prayers for faith as they face upcoming food shortages and discouragement. Pray that they will continue to trust in God’s sovereignty.
Philippines – Student Missionary Outreach (SMO) has had many in their community affected by COVID. One family’s elderly father passed away while the mother had to be hospitalised; the adult children suffered mild to moderate symptoms. Pray for comfort and peace to be upon our partner as they reach out to the grieving in their midst. Pray also for their work among the students in Bacolod City, which has significantly slowed because schools have been closed for a long time.
