Our Church
Foreign & Local Missions Leadership Transition–We thank God that Ps Haoren is moving on from October next year to focus on ministries in the field. Pray that God will give him strength and wisdom for this new season. Taking over from his role as Director of Community Development will be Sharon Quek as Director of Overseas Ministries and Ng Zhiwen as Director of Community Ministries (w.e.f. June 2022). They will be supported by many lay volunteers who serve in the two respective committees. We thank the Lord for each one involved, please pray for a smooth transition process and God’s anointing upon all who serve in these outreach ministries so that the Kingdom of God will continue to grow both here in Singapore and beyond our shores.
Our People
Ministry Behind the Money (13 Nov) – Pray for our ministry leaders as they prepare to present plans for the year ahead. Pray also for hearts that will be listening to the needs of each ministry, so that we can partner both in praying and participating in these ministries.
Our World
India – Our partner in the North East region is organising a series of youth festivals this week. Pray for the organising team and the youth participants to grow in their understanding and love for Jesus. In the North, our other partner is planning a one day retreat. Pray that the time of prayer and meditation on God’s word will help strengthen the workers and reenergise them to carry on with the work of the gospel boldly. Pray for courage, wisdom and sensitivity to the Holy Spirit’s leading to make use of every gospel opportunity for His glory, despite challenges of families understanding the importance of education for children. In West Bengal, pray for the provision of a suitable replacement site for a new (one year old) Day Care Centre for needy children in an impoverished neighbourhood of a big city as the current rented property’s owner has sold it and is asking them to vacate the property.
Myanmar – Pray for its people as fighting between opposing sides gets reported and civilians had to flee from their towns and villages to escape the conflict. Pray for restoration of peace to the country and for believers to continue to put their faith and hope in Jesus. Our partner is also continuing to seek arrangements for a heart operation for a 16 year old girl in his congregation. Pray that the operation can proceed soon.
