To The Praise of the Father’s Glory
Ephesians 1:1-14
Intro: Paul’s Purpose: Praise! (v3, 6, 12 & 14)
Repetition is key
*Praise Him for…
i. His glorious Plan (v9-10)
The mind-blowing scope of the Plan:
- Before the world’s foundation (v4) to the fullness of time (v10 & v14)
- That will unite ALL things in Christ, things in Heaven and on Earth (v10)
The Plan which is all centred on Jesus.
ii. His glorious Grace (v6)
Blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places… (v3-14)
Chosen (v4); Predestined for Adoption (v5);
Redemption and Forgiveness (v7); A now-and-not-yet Inheritance (v11-14)
Summary: Blessed in Christ to be part of God’s glorious Plan!
Conclusion: So Praise Him!
But what IS our role in God’s glorious Plan?

- How has Paul’s opening in Ephesians helped you to praise God? What about God’s glorious Plan in today’s passage excites you the most personally?
- Why would these verses have been helpful to the original Ephesian Church? (remember Acts 19-20)
- What outstanding questions did you have from today’s passage?
