Prayer Points 2 April 2023
Our Church
Catechism Class Retreat – Pray for the participants as they spend half a day this Sat, 8 Apr, reflecting on their relationship with God. May it be a meaningful time of quiet reflection and sharing.
Local Outreach – Thank God for the Living Room (LR) staff who organised an evening of enjoying a movie together on 1 Apr (Sat). Residents from Sin Ming 410 and youth from both Soccer and Tuition ministries were invited to come. Pray for our volunteers who have been visiting and coming alongside them in friendship these past few months. Pray that God will renew their heart and sustain them with strength each week, as they labour to hold out the love of Christ lovingly and joyfully.
Good Friday & Easter Services – Pray for our hearts this week as we celebrate the glorious death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. May we rejoice in the rescue that He has achieved for us through the Cross! May we also see these services as opportunities to bring our loved ones to hear the Gospel. Let’s be praying for family and friends to come and learn more about our crucified Savior.
Our Church
Mrs Ann Lim, wife of Pastor Lim Jit Thye, will be undergoing a procedure this Tuesday to replace the battery for the brain stimulator which was installed more than 5 years ago for her Parkinson’s condition. We thank God that it has functioned well for her. Please pray that the replacement procedure will go smoothly without complication and for God’s peace upon her & Ps Lim.
Our World
India – In the northeast, one partner is reaching out to college students via their city church. Pray that they will be able to find college students with open, hungry hearts, prepared by the Holy Spirit to receive the gospel. May these ones also open other student communities to the gospel. Another partner who works in the Hindi belt, requests prayers for their bible convention taking place end of the month. May Lord of the Harvest raise up more long term committed workers for the gospel in many villages.
Malaysia – Pray for our partner who works amongst the indigenous peoples of West Malaysia like the Orang Asli. Some of these people groups face environmental, health and economic challenges (e.g. high poverty rate even as they live on their land). May God continue to strengthen and provide for this outreach and equipping ministry. Pray for a small ZB group who is visiting our partner over this weekend. May this time be helpful in reconnecting with them after a long period.
Nepal – Our partner has requested prayers for a prayer conference taking place this week. May the Lord touch many lives with His grace and love through this conference. Pray for our member, Michael who will be flying on 3 Apr to join Ps HR as they travel to the western hills to encourage fellow believers on the topic of spiritual maturity. Pray for journey mercies and good weather as forecasted rains might affect their travel plans, especially the flights to a remote mountain town they are visiting in West Nepal.
