Prayer Points 13 Aug 2023
Our Church
Heartland Project Taskforce – Pray for this taskforce as it meets to work out a framework and plan for the heartlands project- to help each home missions ministry work towards a worshipping community for the ones they reach.
Christianity Explored (CE) Table Hosts Training – This Wednesday, CE table hosts training begins. Pray for the table hosts as we spend time thinking about what God’s Word has to say about evangelism and how we do it. Pray not just for skills to be equipped, but hearts to be prepared to share the Good News of Jesus with those who are seeking! We’re still looking for more table hosts, more details on the announcement page.
Guest Workers Outreach – Thank God for the combined efforts of our people from Tamil and English services in reaching out to the guest (migrant) workers at Terusan Recreation Center on alternate Sundays (afternoon). Please pray for a breakthrough to touch the hearts of these workers as we engage them through playing badminton, conducting spoken English classes and converse with them over a cup of tea and vadai. And for more of our members with a burden for these workers to join us as volunteers.
Our Nation
Singapore’s National Day – Pray for our nation as we celebrate our 58th National Day. Pray for our leaders as they steer the country through this dark episode and for the people to unite as one.
Our World
Nepal and ZB Disciple-Making Team Training (11-15 Aug) – Pray for Sharon, 4 others from our church and 3 persons from our Nepal partners as we come together for a retreat from 11-15 August. This retreat will be in person in a nearby country. We will be spending some precious time together in person to pray and learn together about what it means to make disciples in our various contexts. May we have a fruitful time of listening to God and to faithfully take the gospel to places and peoples where it is little known.
National Days (Afghanistan, India, Indonesia) – As Singapore celebrates our National Day, we give thanks for the peace and blessings God has given to Singapore and His church here. Let us also pray for our World and these nations that also celebrate their national days this month (India on 15th, Indonesia on 17th and Afghanistan on 19th). May we in Singapore remember that God’s blessings are not to be hoarded for ourselves, but to be sacrificially shared with other nations in their gospel need.
